About Africa No Filter Voices for Climate Justice initiative
The program is a 12‑month initiative supporting 15–20 African storytellers with training, mentorship, amplification, and grants to create impactful stories on climate change, debt, gender, and fossil fuels.
Benefits of Africa No Filter Voices for Climate Justice initiative
- The 12-month program is delivered in partnership with Comic Relief, and will support 15–20 storytellers with training, mentorship, content amplification and grants of up to US$4,000 to create powerful stories that spark public conversation and inspire action.
Africa No Filter Voices for Climate Justice initiative Requirements
You must:
- Must be a storyteller ( journalists, content creators, podcasters, vloggers, muralists, data visualizers) aged 18 and above
- Applicants must be based in Mozambique, Uganda, Nigeria, Angola, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Tanzania, South Sudan, Malawi, and Zambia
- Applicants must have an active and engaged platform ( podcast, YouTube channel, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, publication, data visualization portfolio) with that has been active and highly engaged for more than a year
- Applicants must commit to sharing a minimum of four gender, debt, and fossil fuel content for a period of not less than 6 months.
- Content creators and data visualizers must have a combined audience of 5,000 or more followers on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter/X and Snapchat. (Journalists may instead demonstrate reach through publication circulation)
- Content creators must be unsigned (not represented by an agent). Journalists may be affiliated with a publication, or outlet provided the submitted work and content rights remain their own.
- All applicants’ proposed ideas must be focused on the campaign’s core themes of climate justice, gender, debt, and fossil fuels in Africa.
- Only individual applicants can apply (no organizations or agencies)
- Demonstration of commitment to ANF’s principles and to ethical, survivor-centered storytelling on gender-based impacts.
