Opportunity Details
The TRP grant supports innovative, interdisciplinary research projects jointly led by scholars in the United States and France. It emphasizes research that addresses pressing societal challenges, fosters transatlantic collaboration, and enhances the global relevance of academic work.The initiative serves as an incubator for bold research projects and prepares scholars for participation in EU-funded research programs, including ERC grants, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, and COST Actions.
Grant Amount: Up to $20,000 over two years
Eligible Expenses:
Travel and accommodation
Visiting scholar fees (where applicable)
Research dissemination efforts (publications, workshops, conferences)
Networking Opportunities: Access to support from the French Embassy’s cultural and scientific services, Villa Albertine, and France Science for visibility and professional development
Scholars affiliated with research institutions in the US and France
Ph.D. holders with no more than eight years of research experience post-Ph.D., including career breaks
Early career researchers and first-generation scholars are strongly encouraged to apply
Both applicants must maintain institutional contracts during the grant period
Partnerships may include collaborators from outside the US-French academic system
Prepare Joint Application:
Both US and French scholars serve as vice-PIs
Collaboration must demonstrate long-term transnational partnership potential

Joint cover letter
1,500-word research proposal detailing expected outcomes and dissemination plans
Completed budget
CVs for both applicants including publication lists
Letters of intent from both institutions
Any additional supporting documents as required
