Cannot hold a faculty appointment.
Must work at the mentor’s institution and dedicate at least 75% effort to the project.
Begins with a Letter of Intent (LOI) to identify high-potential projects.
LOI must include biosketches, mentor letters, and a concise project narrative.
Evaluation based on significance, merit, feasibility, qualifications, and career development potential.
