About American College of Cardiology - William A. Zoghbi Global Research Initiative
The William A. Zoghbi Global Research Initiative supported by William A. Zoghbi, MD, MACC; Bayer; Wael Al Mahmeed, MD, FACC and a generous gift from Raghib Hussain in honor of Jamal S Rana, MD, PhD, FACC aims to provide a springboard for innovative new research that holds potential to improve the care and outcomes of patients at risk or living with cardiovascular disease.
Benefits of American College of Cardiology - William A. Zoghbi Global Research Initiative
- There will be seven awards given in the amount of $25,000/award. The award duration is one year, beginning July 1, 2027, and ending on June 30, 2028.
American College of Cardiology - William A. Zoghbi Global Research Initiative Requirements
- These awards are open to all cardiovascular clinical investigators living outside the United States – with preference given to those residing in low- to middle-income countries – who are ACC International Fellows and ACC International Associates, or individuals who have passed the ACC's Certified Cardiovascular Knowledge Examination (CCKE).
- Preference will be given to individuals who have between 5 -10 years of experience in clinical research post training.

- Two Letters of Recommendation (from mentor, FACC, cardiology department head, etc.)
- List of current research funding/Awards detailing the following information:
- Funding agency
- Amount
- Dates of funding
- Copy of Form of ID (for residency verification)
All documents must be submitted in English or must be accompanied by an official translation. Applicants assume all costs associated with authenticating, retrieving and submitting documents and material in support of their application. The ACC does not charge an application fee.
