About American Psychological Foundation Walter Katkovsky Research Grant Program
The Walter Katkovsky Research Grant Program supports research focused on psychotherapy. Projects should aim to improve knowledge of how psychotherapy produces behavioral, emotional, or cognitive change. Both theoretical and methodological research approaches are welcome, including studies that simulate psychotherapy processes such as learning or exposure trials. Participants in research may be patients or non-patient populations.

American Psychological Foundation Walter Katkovsky Research Grant Program Requirements
APF encourages applicants from diverse backgrounds with respect to age, race, color, religion, creed, nationality, ability, sexual orientation, gender, and geography.
Applicants must:
- be psychologists up to 12 years postdoctoral
- be affiliated with a nonprofit charitable, educational, or scientific institution, or governmental entity operating exclusively for charitable and educational purposes
- have demonstrated competence and capacity to execute the proposed work
Evaluation Criteria
Applications will be evaluated on:
- quality, viability, and potential impact of the proposed project
- originality, innovation, and contribution to the field
- applicant’s demonstrated competence and capability to execute the proposed work
- criticality of funding for execution of work (particularly if part of a larger funded effort)
