About Annie E. Casey Foundation - Rising Leaders for Results Fellowship

This Fel­low­ship is designed for lead­ers who are already engaged in this work, espe­cial­ly in com­mu­ni­ties where needs are great­est and resources are lim­it­ed. Prospec­tive Fel­lows are seek­ing to deep­en their lead­er­ship, strength­en how they act in their role and increase their impact with­in the sys­tems they are part of. Strong can­di­dates are already lead­ing efforts, build­ing part­ner­ships, shap­ing pol­i­cy and con­tribut­ing in cre­ative ways across sec­tors such as edu­ca­tion, com­mu­ni­ty devel­op­ment, pub­lic pol­i­cy and the arts. Many are also com­mit­ted to equi­ty and jus­tice in their work, even as they face com­plex sys­tems and constraints.

Benefits of Annie E. Casey Foundation - Rising Leaders for Results Fellowship

The Casey Foun­da­tion cov­ers the core costs asso­ci­at­ed with the Fel­low­ship to sup­port Fel­lows’ full par­tic­i­pa­tion in the expe­ri­ence, including:

• trans­porta­tion to and from Fel­low­ship sem­i­nars and relat­ed trav­el expenses; 
• lodg­ing and meals dur­ing sem­i­nars; and
• pro­gram materials.

The Foun­da­tion may also pro­vide addi­tion­al sup­port to reduce bar­ri­ers to par­tic­i­pa­tion dur­ing sem­i­nars and pro­gram activ­i­ties, such as child­care stipends or oth­er needs.

Annie E. Casey Foundation - Rising Leaders for Results Fellowship Requirements

To be eli­gi­ble for the Ris­ing Lead­ers Fel­low­ship, appli­cants must:

• be between the ages of 24 and 31 at the start of the program;
• work in a non­prof­it, pub­lic sec­tor, phil­an­thropic, for-prof­it or self-employed role focused on improv­ing out­comes for chil­dren, youth, fam­i­lies and/​or communities; 
• be based in the Unit­ed States and focused on domes­tic issues at the local, state, region­al or nation­al level;
• be able to par­tic­i­pate in all Fel­low­ship sem­i­nars and activ­i­ties over the course of the pro­gram; and
• have the full sup­port of their super­vi­sor and organization.

Note that the fol­low­ing are inel­i­gi­ble to apply for a Fellowship:

• employ­ees or those seek­ing employ­ment with the Casey Foun­da­tion dur­ing the selec­tion process or the pro­gram term;
• imme­di­ate fam­i­ly mem­bers of a Casey Foun­da­tion trustee or employee;
• par­tic­i­pants in anoth­er lead­er­ship pro­gram or fel­low­ship dur­ing the Fel­low­ship term; and
• can­di­dates for pub­lic office.
