The Sport and Leisure Defibrillator Grant is a funding opportunity designed to increase access to automated external defibrillators (AEDs) across communities in the Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough.The programme was established by Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council to support local organisations in improving emergency preparedness and protecting the health and safety of community members.

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough - Sport and Leisure Defibrillator Grant Requirements
The grant is open to:
- Voluntary constituted sports clubs based in Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough
- Voluntary constituted community groups based in Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough
Applicants must demonstrate that they:
- Have at least two members trained to use a defibrillator, or members actively working towards this qualification
- Follow good governance practices
- Operate with a fair and inclusive approach
- Maintain sound financial management procedures
Organisations should also demonstrate how the AED will benefit their members and wider community users.
