Armagh City Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council is accepting applications for its Coronation Bursary Scheme 2026/27. Interested applicants are encouraged to click here to learn more about this opportunity and apply for it.
The Armagh City, Banbridge, and Craigavon (ABC) Borough Council has established the Coronation Bursary to support the practical development of youth within the region. Unlike traditional scholarships that focus on high grades, this bursary rewards character, commitment, and the ability to overcome adversity.
Award: Successful nominees are awarded up to £500 to be used for the approved expenses.
Eligibility is strictly controlled to ensure the funds benefit local youth within the council’s jurisdiction.
Candidate Requirements:
Age: Must be between 15 and 19 years old.
Residency: Must live within the ABC Borough.
Education: Must attend a school or college located within the ABC Borough.
Nomination: Must be the sole nominee for their specific school or college.
This scheme does not accept direct applications from students. It follows a formal nomination structure:
Selection: The school or college identifies one exceptional student who meets the age and residency criteria.
Evidence Gathering: The nominator compiles evidence of the student’s commitment, resilience, or positive contribution (e.g., volunteer work, peer support, or overcoming personal hardship).
Application Submission: The school or college submits the official nomination form to the ABC Borough Council.
Review: Council Grants Officers review the applications to ensure they align with the scheme’s objectives.
Award: Successful nominees are awarded up to £500 to be used for the approved expenses.
