About AU–EU Partnership (#AUEU25) “Through Our Lens” Photography Competition

Ahead of the 7th AU–EU Summit, scheduled to take place in Luanda, Angola, on 24–25 November 2025, the African Union(AU)  and the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to the AU  have launched the “#AUEU25 Through Our Lens” Photography Competition as part of the year-long commemoration marking 25 years of the African Union–European Union (AU–EU) Partnership.

Benefits of AU–EU Partnership (#AUEU25) “Through Our Lens” Photography Competition

Two overall winners one African and one European  will each receive:

• A €500 cash prize;
• A fully funded trip to Addis Ababa for the award ceremony, planned for early December 2025;
• A speaking opportunity during the exhibition launch;
• Exclusive networking opportunities with AU and EU officials, photographers, and creative industry stakeholders.

AU–EU Partnership (#AUEU25) “Through Our Lens” Photography Competition Requirements

• Age: Must be 30 years old or younger.

• Region: Open to participants from Africa and Europe.

Application Date and Process

• Number of Entries: Up to three original photographs per participant.

• Languages: Submissions must be in English or French.

• Theme: Photos should reflect impact, progress, and collaboration between Africa and Europe — including topics like community empowerment, entrepreneurship, environmental innovation, health resilience, and cultural exchange.
