The BBPA National Scholarship Program, established in 1986, provides financial assistance to Black Canadian youth pursuing post-secondary education. Scholarships are awarded based on academic excellence, leadership, and community involvement to reduce financial barriers and support career success.
The BBPA National Scholarship Program (NSP) is designed to support Black Canadian students pursuing post-secondary education. The program is run by the Black Business and Professional Association (BBPA), a non-profit organization that promotes the professional and economic growth of Black Canadians.
This annual scholarship program is open to Black Canadian citizens or permanent residents who are enrolled or are planning to enroll in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program at a Canadian college or university. Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence, financial need, and community involvement.
The selection process for the BBPA National Scholarship Program is rigorous and competitive. Applicants are evaluated based on their academic achievements, financial need,
community involvement, personal statement, and letters of recommendation. A panel of judges reviews each application and selects the recipients based on the eligibility criteria and
the strength of their application.
Applications are open for an 8 week period to provide applicants with the fullest capacity to prepare the best application possible. Through a rigorous review and selectin process the BBPA aims to empower Black Canadian students to achieve their academic and professional goals, by reducing their financial burden. providing opportunities for mentorship and networking to achieve a greater competitive advantage.
