About Books by LR - Write the Future Book Publishing Grant Program
The “Write the Future” Fellowship is designed to nurture local literary talent and enhance the publishing landscape in Trinidad and Tobago. It supports first-time authors in bringing their stories to life, whether fiction or non-fiction, while maintaining full creative ownership throughout the publishing process.

Books by LR - Write the Future Book Publishing Grant Program Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago
- Be 18 years or older at the time of application
- Be a first-time author (not previously published)
- Submit an original manuscript, up to 50,000 words
- Manuscripts can be fiction or non-fiction, excluding erotica
- Retain all copyrights; Books by LR does not claim ownership
Application Date and Process
Applicants must submit the following:
- Proof of citizenship and age (e.g., National ID or Passport)
- A synopsis of the manuscript (maximum 300 words)
- The first three chapters or up to 5,000 words
- A brief author bio (maximum 150 words)
