The BC Arts Council Scholarship Program is designed to invest in the education and professional development of B.C.’s future artists and arts leaders. It supports students pursuing training in diverse artistic disciplines, enabling them to acquire the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to contribute to the province’s vibrant cultural sector.
To qualify, applicants must meet residency, citizenship, age, and program requirements.
Residency and Citizenship
Must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada
Must ordinarily reside in British Columbia with a physical BC address
Must have lived in BC for at least 12 continuous months before the application closing date (excluding full-time post-secondary study abroad)
Temporary absences for education outside BC are acceptable
Proof of residency may include StudentAid BC loan records or a Canada tax return filed as a BC resident
Age
Applicants must be at least 15 years old as of December 31, 2026
Eligible Programs
Applicants must be enrolled in full-time study in one of the following:
Eligible certificate, diploma, or degree programs (Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD) at a college, university, or academy anywhere in the world
Eligible professional or pre-professional dance training programs
Pre-professional half-day dance programs combined with high school studies
