About British Council - GREAT Scholarships UK
The GREAT Scholarship UK is a partially funded scholarship offered by the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign in collaboration with the British Council and participating UK universities. It supports international students to pursue one-year master’s programs in the UK.

- The scholarship provides £10,000 contribution toward tuition fees for one-year postgraduate programs, opportunities to connect with other GREAT Scholars and expand international networks, alumini status and the chance to promote UK higher education.
Note: Travel, accommodation, and living expenses are not covered and must be managed by the student.
British Council - GREAT Scholarships UK Requirements
- To get the GREAT Scholarship UK, students should have a bachelor’s degree, come from one of the eligible GREAT countries, and show motivation and interest in their chosen subject. They must meet the English language requirements, have some experience in their field, attend lectures, participate in scholarship activities, and be willing to represent UK higher education as a future alumnus.
- Students from eligible countries, including Bangladesh, China, Egypt, France, Ghana, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam, can apply. Applicants must have an undergraduate/bachelor’s degree and demonstrate motivation for the postgraduate course.
Application Date and Process
- Apply to a participating UK university for a one-year master’s program and secure an offer (conditional or unconditional).
- Follow the university-specific instructions for submitting the GREAT Scholarship application.
- Ensure all eligibility criteria and required documents are met.
- Successful applicants will receive scholarship notification from the respective university.
