The Artist Development Microgrant Program by Calgary Arts Development offers one-time funding to Calgary-based individual artists, artist collectives, and cultural workers across all artistic disciplines. The goal is to help artists enhance their skills, knowledge, and career development in order to advance their artistic practices in Calgary.
Maximum Grant Amount: $5,000 per applicant.
Artist Collectives: Groups of at least two artists with a shared practice (cannot be for-profit or non-profit organizations).
Cultural Workers: Individuals contributing creatively or technically to artistic work but not leading the artistic vision.
Geographic Requirements:
Must reside permanently in Calgary for at least six months per year.
Artists outside Calgary city limits may apply if they maintain meaningful ties with Calgary’s artistic communities and have most of their work accessible to Calgarians.
Restrictions:
Applicants can only have two open grants at a time.
Only one application per intake.
Applicants must not have overdue final reports.
