About Gender Equality Accelerator Program

The Gender Equality Accelerator is a new joint initiative of four United Nations agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina: UN Women, UNICEF, UNDP and UNFPA, with the aim of accelerating progress towards gender equality through three key pillars: the elimination of violence against women and girls, women's economic empowerment, and women's leadership and gender-responsive governance.

Gender Equality Accelerator Program Requirements

The call is open to:

• Up to three (3) local self-government units in the Republic of Srpska that do not have a local development strategy or whose existing strategic documents are about to expire, and want to develop new ones in accordance with the legal framework.
• Up to five (5) local self-government units in the Federation of BiH that want to improve the process of three-year and annual work planning through the development of implementation documents.

Application Date and Process

Interested local self-government units should submit:

1. Completed application form,
2. Letter of intent (up to two pages), signed by the Mayor, expressing interest and willingness to participate.
