The National Treasury Bursary Scheme Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be accepted or registered for full-time undergraduate or postgraduate studies at a registered and accredited South African higher education institution
  • Be entering third-year undergraduateHonours, or Master’s studies in 2027
  • Demonstrate strong academic performance (preference is given to top-performing students).

Application Date and Process

Apply through the National Treasury e-Recruitment portal. Applications must include:

  • Completed application form
  • Certified copy of your South African ID
  • Grade 12 results and certificate
  • Official tertiary academic record (from first year to latest available results).
