The Nikkei Asia Award is an annual international award presented by Nikkei Inc. to recognize impactful innovation that originates in Asia and creates meaningful social and economic change. Now in its 5th edition, the award highlights individuals or groups whose activities contribute to regional revitalization, improved quality of life, and sustainable future growth across Asia, while also influencing the global community.
The Nikkei Asia Award includes:
A monetary prize of 5,000,000 yen
International recognition through Nikkei and Nikkei Asia
Official announcement on Nikkei’s platforms
Increased global visibility for the winning initiative
Eligibility for the Nikkei Asia Award is defined by clear geographic and participation criteria.
Eligible candidates must:
Be individuals or groups from Asia or living in Asia
Be responsible for a single, clearly identifiable activity or initiative
Conduct activities that originated in Asia
Demonstrate contribution to Asia’s social or economic development
Ineligible candidates include:
Japanese individuals
Groups composed solely of Japanese citizens
Nomination Requirements
Candidates cannot nominate themselves.
Key nomination rules include:
Candidates must be nominated by a third party
Nominations are submitted through the official nomination form
The identity of the nominator is kept confidential and not publicly disclosed
