About AYNF - Cohort 5
The African Youth Negotiators Fellowship (AYNF) is a transformative, pan-African initiative designed to empower young climate leaders with the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to actively participate in global climate governance. The programme focuses on strengthening Africa’s representation in international climate negotiations, particularly within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change framework.
Benefits of AYNF - Cohort 5
- An intensive one-week hybrid training in Ghana featuring advanced negotiation sessions, policy writing, simulations, and practical exercises. negotiation frameworks, the UNFCCC architecture, and regional policy intersections.
- A deep-dive mentorship, thematic negotiation labs, policy brief development, and coordinated pre-, during-, and post-COP31 engagement activities.
AYNF - Cohort 5 Requirements
To be considered for the fellowship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a citizen of an African country
- Be between the ages of 15 and 35
- Demonstrate a strong interest in climate justice and diplomacy
- Have experience or a clear interest in climate policy (national or international)
- Successfully complete at least one course on the Ghana Climate Literacy Portal
- Be available to fully participate in all three programme phases
- Be proficient in English, the official language of instruction
