About NSERC Alliance International Catalyst Quantum Grant Program

The Government of Canada has launched the National Quantum Strategy (NQS) to amplify Canada’s significant strengths in quantum research, grow its quantum-ready technologies, companies, talent and solidify Canada’s global leadership in this area.

Benefits of NSERC Alliance International Catalyst Quantum Grant Program

  • Up to $25,000 for one year.

  • Covers:

    • Salaries for trainees, technicians, and research professionals

    • Materials, supplies, and essential equipment

    • Collaboration and knowledge mobilization activities

    • Up to 10% of direct costs for project management (if multiple collaborators)

NSERC Alliance International Catalyst Quantum Grant Program Requirements

  • Applicants must:

    • Hold or have a firm offer of appointment at an eligible Canadian institution

    • Be engaged in independent research and authorized to supervise students/postdocs

    • Not have salaries paid from NSERC, SSHRC, or CIHR grants (except under specific programs)

  • Adjunct professors with primary affiliation outside Canada are not eligible.
