Brown University CSREA Visiting Faculty Fellowship Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a member of the regular faculty at their home institution
  • Be on a funded scholarly leave or sabbatical during the fellowship period
  • Have a research focus on race, ethnicity, and/or indigeneity in the U.S., the Americas, or related transnational contexts

Application Date and Process

To apply, candidates must submit the following materials:

  • A current CV
  • A research proposal (2-3 pages) detailing:
    • The focus of their project and its relevance to CSREA’s mission
    • Expected outcomes and contributions to the field
    • How the fellowship will support their work
  • A statement of intent (1-2 pages) describing:
    • How they will engage with CSREA’s intellectual community
    • Their interest in participating in the CSREA Research Fellows Seminar
  • A sample of scholarly or creative work (maximum 25 pages)
  • A letter from their home institution confirming approval of a funded scholarly leave/sabbatical for Fall 2026
