The Economic Grants Program provides financial support for projects that strengthen local economies, support businesses, develop skills, and create positive community outcomes.The programme is designed to help local businesses and community-led initiatives improve economic participation and create vibrant neighbourhoods across the City of Sydney local area.

• Maximum cash funding: $50,000

City of Sydney - Economic Grants Program Requirements

Eligible applicants must meet the programme requirements and may include:

• Individuals
• Legal entities
• Local businesses
• Community organisations
• Organisations with an eligible auspice arrangement

Applicants without their own eligibility to enter into an agreement may apply through an auspice organisation willing to contract with the City of Sydney.

Applicants must:

• Operate within the City of Sydney local area, or demonstrate significant community benefits
• Meet specific programme eligibility criteria
• Comply with the City of Sydney’s ethics framework
• Have an active Australian Business Number (ABN) if applying as a business
• Have successfully completed previous City of Sydney grant-funded projects
• Have no outstanding debts owed to the City of Sydney
