About Civic and Political Organising Lab for Creatives

Yiaga Africa, with support from the Open Society Foundations (OSF), announces the call for applications for the Civic and Political Organising Lab for young creatives. The lab sessions aim to inspire and mobilise creatives to promote civic engagement by producing content that promotes political education, civic activism, good governance, and social cohesion amongst Nigerians.

Benefits of Civic and Political Organising Lab for Creatives

Yiaga Africa will cover some costs associated with participation, which include:

• Transportation to the state/location of the Civic and Political Organising Lab
• Accommodation for the days of the event
• Meals and training materials during the event

Civic and Political Organising Lab for Creatives Requirements

Candidate must:

• Be passionate about meaningful citizens’ participation in governance
• Be a Creative Artist  (visual artists, musicians, dancers, monologue artists, spoken word artists, poets, etc.)
• Be between 18 and 30 years old.
• Be interested in leveraging the arts to promote civic consciousness.

Applicants who are already working on or leading an arts-based initiative for civic engagement will be given priority.
