About IAS Civic Science Fellow
The Civic Science Fellow position at the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) is a unique opportunity for scholars to engage in research that reimagines scientific research as a genuinely public endeavor. The fellowship will be part of The Public's Science initiative, which aims to foster a new social contract for American research policy. The full-time, 18-month appointment will involve collaboration with a team from a partnering institution and will focus on developing digital infrastructure for public engagement, supporting editorial development of scholarly publications, conducting research on participatory governance models, and cultivating relationships across the community of practice working to advance public science.

IAS Civic Science Fellow Requirements
- Experience in some aspect of the social implications of science and technology (science and technology studies; science, technology, and ethics; science and technology policy; science communication, participatory-based science research, etc.)
- Extensive writing and research experience
- Established record of publication
- Experience developing or managing digital platforms, online communities, or public engagement initiatives
- Experience in program or project management
- Strategic, entrepreneurial, and forward-looking thinker who takes initiative
