About UNESCO Youth Hackathon
Building in this momentum, the UNESCO Youth Hackathon 2026, under the theme of "Play Your Part: Youth Designing the Future of Media and Information Literacy", recognizes young people as key drivers of innovation and change, empowering them to contribute their creativity, leadership, and diverse perspectives to advance Media and Information Literacy (MIL) worldwide.

UNESCO Youth Hackathon Requirements
UNESCO invites young changemakers to join this global event:
- Teams of 2–6 members (national, regional, or international)
- All team members must be 18–30 years old
- Teams should align with UNESCO’s values, including peace, respect for diversity, and freedom of expression
- Gender balance and inclusion are highly encouraged
- No prior experience required—only passion and motivation!
Application Date and Process
If you are ready to play your part in the UNESCO Youth Hackathon 2026, follow these steps carefully:

- Form your team of 2 to 6 members.
- Complete the online registration form via the official link below before the unannounced deadline.
- Work with your mentors and prepare your Final Submission (Word/PDF proposal and 3-minute pitch video).
For your final submission, your team will need to prepare the following materials:
- Written Proposal: A detailed project proposal submitted in Word or PDF format.
- Pitch Video: A 3-minute video pitching your team’s innovative solution.
