The Youthtown Trust is a New Zealand-based charitable trust that provides grants to support positive youth development and community benefit. Its mission is to help young people thrive by funding youth programmes, facilities, and activities that promote aspiration, participation, and achievement.
The Trust both delivers its own Youth Services programmes and distributes grants to eligible community organisations working with young people.
Eligible applicants must be not-for-profit and aligned with the Trust’s charitable purpose. Eligible organisations include:
Incorporated charitable organisations or associations promoting charitable objectives
Regional and community-based not-for-profits operating in areas where gaming funds are generated
Amateur sports organisations affiliated with recognised national sporting bodies
Incorporated national organisations that clearly demonstrate regional or community-level benefit from the grant
Applicants must be able to show that the funded activity benefits young people and the wider community.
Who Is Not Eligible for Funding
Youthtown Trust does not fund the following:
Retrospective or already incurred expenses
Activities providing commercial benefit to gaming venues
Private, personal, or political purposes
Projects already fully funded from another source
Multi-year or ongoing funding commitments
Fundraising activities
Professional sports clubs or non-affiliated sports organisations
Affiliation fees, memberships, prizes, or catering costs
Activities connected to the horse-racing industry
