About MiLA Lab AI, Law & Ethics Research Awards
The MiLA Lab is a pioneering center dedicated to research and development at the intersection of AI and law. MiLA’s overarching goal is to promote the responsible integration of AI into legal education, research, and practice.
The Lab’s mission is to foster innovative research, develop practical AI-based tools for the legal domain, and contribute to the evolving discourse on AI governance and ethics.

MiLA Lab AI, Law & Ethics Research Awards Requirements
- Open to scholars, students, legal practitioners, and technologists with a demonstrated interest in AI and law. We welcome applicants from a wide range of fields, including but not limited to: business and management, computer science, education, engineering, health sciences, bioethics, law, medicine, philosophy, political science, public health, psychology, and other relevant disciplines. Cross-institutional applications, with at least one collaborator from the University of Miami (UM), will be given priority. If you have a proposed project but are unable to find a UM collaborator, you are welcome to reach out to [email protected] by August 20, 2026, with details about your project and the type of collaborator you are looking for. Our team will do its best to assist you in finding a suitable partner.
