Benefits of Cancer Council Victoria - Grants-in-Aid Program for Cancer Research
- Salary support: Salary for Chief Investigators and other research personnel. Salary on-costs can be included within the salary request, capped at 20% (e.g., Requested salary: $50,000; On-costs of requested salary: $10,000; Total salary: $60,000).
- Salary for Chief Investigator A (CIA) only if the CIA’s PhD (or MBBS) awarded < 13 years ago at the closing date for EOI applications. Career interruptions will only be considered if the CIA provides specific details of the interruption. Salary requests for Chief Investigators B-J only if salary is not being requested to support someone who is a group leader or head of laboratory.
- Equipment: Items costing $10,000 or more that are essential to the conduct of the proposed research.
- Direct research costs: Inc. costs such as animal housing, consumables, software, participant recruitment, equipment (under $10k), imaging and diagnostic fees, transcription fees and travel to conduct the research (e.g., data collection). May include cost recovery for research personnel (e.g., research assistant) and specialised expertise (e.g., statistician support) with justification.
Cancer Council Victoria - Grants-in-Aid Program for Cancer Research Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Chief Investigator A must be based in a Victorian administering organisation
- Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Must not be a Cancer Council Victoria employee
- Must not hold another Grants-in-Aid award as Chief Investigator A by 1 January 2027
- Research team limited to 10 investigators maximum
Strong institutional affiliation is required.
