About CRESENT Geoscience Professional Development Fellowship

Opportunity Details

CRESCENT offers fellowships to graduate students and postdoctoral scholars for travel to conferences, workshops, or training courses focused on professional development. This effort seeks to help candidates strengthen the presentation of their skills and accomplishments in anticipation of entering the workforce. Appropriate professional development events should provide information, skill development, and networking opportunities that help participants prepare for careers in earthquake science. Events should include leaders from a variety of institution types and career paths to provide guidance that helps participants to be stronger candidates for their desired positions and to succeed in their field.

Benefits of CRESENT Geoscience Professional Development Fellowship

  • One-time stipend distributed upfront to help cover costs of meeting registration, accommodation, and/or transportation for a conference, workshop, or training course.
  • Funding awards will be considered up to ~$1000.

CRESENT Geoscience Professional Development Fellowship Requirements

Applicants must be:

  • a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or its possessions.
  • a full-time graduate student or post doc at a US-based institution who is interested in a career in earthquake science and broadening participation.
