About CRG Research Training Program

The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) aims to provide highly motivated undergraduate and master students the opportunity to conduct research at the CRG. The goal is to encourage students (from all nationalities) in the pursuit of a scientific career giving them the prospect to get experience in an international laboratory while improving their skills.

Benefits of CRG Research Training Program

  • Applicants will attend a wide range of seminars delivered by high-profile speakers.
  • Similarly, the program will offer 10 fellowship opportunities across different research projects for talented students.
  • In addition, you will receive compensation of 600€ per month (gross) for up to five months.
  • Moreover, you will receive a return ticket, up to 800€ for non-European flights or 300€ for European flights.
  • Furthermore, all CRG labs welcome Master’s and Bachelor’s students throughout the year.
  • Finally, you will get an opportunity to conduct hands-on research at the CRG.

CRG Research Training Program Requirements

  • First, candidates must have experience in at least one of the following fields: phylogenetics, proteomics, genomics, or biochemistry.
  • Next, the ideal candidate must pursue a master’s degree in biology or biochemistry.

  • The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • In addition, the candidate must have basic molecular biology skills.

  • Moreover, the candidate must understand chromatin and evolution.

  • Furthermore, the candidate must know R, Python, or Perl.

  • The candidate must show strong learning interest and a collaborative attitude.

  • Moreover, desirable skills include experience in omics data generation, sterile culturing, and using HPC clusters.
  • Additionally, the program offers the fellowship only to new recruits and does not accept students already at the CRG.
  • Finally, the fellowship must take place within the 2025/2026 academic year.
