The City of Regina launched the New Initiative Grant Program to support unique projects that contribute to the city’s cultural, social, and community development. The program encourages innovation, experimentation, and creativity, allowing organizations to respond to emerging community needs and opportunities. It focuses on programs, projects, services, organizational development activities, and capital projects led by non-profit organizations.
Minor Funding: Up to $10,000 for initiatives that can be completed within 12 months.
Major Funding: $10,001–$30,000 for larger initiatives, generally completed within 12 months.
Extended Funding Period: In special cases, projects with unique scope may receive up to 24 months to complete activities.
Support for Innovation: The program encourages creative approaches and first-time initiatives to strengthen community participation and cultural engagement.
Eligible applicants include:
Registered non-profit community organizations incorporated for at least one year and in good standing.
Organizations based in Saskatchewan or delivering services to Regina residents.
School Community Councils or non-profits applying on behalf of schools.
Business improvement districts partnering with the City of Regina.
Applicants must demonstrate sound financial management, inclusivity, and non-discrimination in program delivery.
