About City of Regina Sport and Recreation Annual Activity Grant

The City of Regina provides financial support to organizations that deliver consistent, high-quality events, programs, and services aligned with community sport and recreation objectives. The program promotes continuity, inclusivity, and long-term community impact. 

Benefits of City of Regina Sport and Recreation Annual Activity Grant

  • Funding Amounts: Minor funding up to $10,000, Major funding over $10,000 and up to $30,000. Organizations may apply for up to two grants with a combined maximum of $40,000.

City of Regina Sport and Recreation Annual Activity Grant Requirements

Eligible applicants include:

  • Registered non-profit community organizations incorporated for at least one year.

  • Organizations delivering services to Regina residents or based in Saskatchewan.

  • School Community Councils or non-profits applying on behalf of a school or school board.

  • Business improvement districts partnering with the City of Regina.

Ineligible Applicants:

  • Post-secondary institutions, private schools, municipal service providers (police, fire, health authorities), hospitals, charitable foundations.

  • Organizations with unresolved reporting requirements, outstanding financial obligations, or active litigation with the City.

  • City of Regina Community Partners for Annual Activity grants (eligible under New Initiative grants only).

Application Date and Process

  1. Determine Eligibility: Review criteria for non-profit status, incorporation, and residency or service area.

  2. Select Funding Category: Choose Annual Activity – New or Annual Activity – Returning.

  3. Prepare Application: Include project description, budget, expected outcomes, and proof of organizational status.

  4. Submit Application: Applications are submitted to the City of Regina by the designated deadline.

  5. Funding Review: The City evaluates applications based on alignment with community objectives, accountability, and inclusivity.

  6. Grant Approval: Successful applicants receive funding for the approved period.
