The Business Façade Improvement Program helps businesses and property owners improve the aesthetics, visibility, and functionality of commercial buildings. Its goals are to support business viability, enhance public service, and encourage high-quality design along downtown and highway corridor commercial areas.
Reimbursement Rate: 50% of eligible project costs.
Maximum Grant: $5,000 per project.
Minimum Project Value: $2,000.
Applicants must:
Own the property or operate a business on the property with written authorization from the property owner.
Be a non-profit organization or commercial tenant with proper consent.
Have fully paid property taxes and a current valid business license, where applicable.
Have no outstanding building permits or stop-work orders.
Ineligible Properties
Properties outside designated program areas.
Vacant buildings or non-operating businesses.
Residential homes, government-owned buildings, or apartment buildings.
Properties that have previously received program funding.
Confirm eligibility based on property ownership, operation, and tax status.
Prepare a project plan detailing façade improvements, design elements, and estimated costs.
Submit the application to the City of Williams Lake with supporting documents and authorization if required.
Await review and approval before beginning any construction or renovation work.
