About Civicus - Civic Space Research Internship
The Civic Space Research Internship 2026 is an excellent opportunity for graduates who want to gain practical experience in human rights research and civic space monitoring. CIVICUS is offering a six-month paid internship for talented individuals interested in international relations, political science, and related fields. Through these paid remote internships, interns will support global research projects, analyze civic space data, and contribute to the organization’s annual People Power Under Attack report.

Civicus - Civic Space Research Internship Requirements
- Applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree.
- Candidates should have a degree in International Relations, Political Science, or a related field.
- Applicants must have excellent written and spoken English skills.
- Candidates should have knowledge of or experience in conducting human rights research.
- Applicants should understand international human rights frameworks related to freedom of association, peaceful assembly, and freedom of expression.
- Candidates should be willing to work full-time during the six-month internship.
- Applicants must be able to work effectively in a remote environment.
- Proficiency in any United Nations (UN) language is desirable but not mandatory.
