The Gill’s Charity Fund is a local grant programme dedicated to improving the welfare and quality of life of older people living in the Borough of Carrickfergus (as defined by the former Local Government area). Since 2021, the fund has been managed and administered by the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland, ensuring structured annual access to funding for grassroots organisations.The fund exists to support community-led charitable initiatives that directly benefit older residents within the designated area.
Grants available: Up to £3,500
To qualify for funding, organisations must meet all of the following criteria:
Organisational Requirements
Fully constituted voluntary or community organisation
Based within Northern Ireland
Annual income below £100,000
Project Requirements
Project must strictly benefit older people
Beneficiaries must reside in the Borough of Carrickfergus (former Local Government area)
Activities must be charitable in nature
Priority is given to locally based organisations primarily supporting local older residents.
