About Competition Tribunal Internship
Competition Tribunal Internship is a 12-month paid full-time internship for students enrolled for a Master’s in Economics, offering on-the-job training and experience in competition economics. The Tribunal Internship aims to build expertise while working on matters that shape competitive markets.
The internship is offered by the Competition Tribunal, an independent adjudicative body established in terms of section 26 of the Competition Act, No. 89 of 1998, with jurisdiction throughout the Republic of South Africa. The Tribunal’s offices are situated in Pretoria.

Competition Tribunal Internship Requirements
- Student currently enrolled for his/her Masters in Economics.
- Applicants should therefore demonstrate that they meet the academic requirement and have an interest in developing a career in Competition Economics.
- The application should demonstrate a genuine interest in the field, as candidates are required to submit a motivation explaining why they are interested in pursuing a career in Competition Economics.
