About CSIR Direct Senior Research Fellowship
The CSIR Direct Senior Research Fellowship is designed to support researchers who have already gained relevant academic and research experience and are ready to undertake advanced research training.The fellowship provides financial support while fellows conduct research under expert guidance in recognised scientific and technological fields.

- Contingent grant up to ₹20,000 per year for research expenses.
- Fellowship duration: 2 years, extendable by 1 additional year based on progress.
CSIR Direct Senior Research Fellowship Requirements
- Open to Indian citizens with specific academic qualifications and research experience.
- Multiple qualification routes (M.Sc., B.E./B.Tech., M.Tech., MBBS, BDS, B.Pharm., M.Pharm., etc.) with minimum marks and research/publication requirements.
- Age limit: 32 years (with relaxations: SC/ST, women, PwD = +5 years; OBC non-creamy layer = +3 years).
- Not eligible if already awarded/submitted a Ph.D., M.D., M.S., or MDS thesis.
