About Counterpart International Global Women in Management Program

GWIM 76 is designed for early- to mid-career women working in local NGOs, cooperatives, businesswomen’s associations, micro-credit organizations, and social enterprises—women who advance economic opportunities for women in their communities.

Benefits of Counterpart International Global Women in Management Program

  • You will have the opportunity to work with a GWIM alumnae mentor who will help you design and implement your action plan and provide support on work-related issues.
  • Graduates of the GWIM program also join national, regional, and global alumnae networks and have access to a private page on online platforms linking alumnae to resources, training and fellowship programs, and funding opportunities.
  • You will foster long-lasting personal and professional relationships with the small group of women in your cohort and become part of a network of more than 1,000 GWIM alumnae around the world. 

Counterpart International Global Women in Management Program Requirements

  • Currently employed by, or volunteering with a local civil society organization implementing women’s economic empowerment programs, working in STEAM field supporting women and young girls, or with a social enterprise that benefits women.
  • Minimum five years of experience in development programming.
  • Minimum three years of experience in women’s economic empowerment activities (e.g., micro-credit, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, income generation, cooperatives, businesswomen’s groups, etc.).
  • Highly proficient in English (able to participate actively in discussions and presentations). Counterpart International may assess oral language skills during the application process to determine eligibility. 
  • Fully committed and available to travel to Washington, DC, United States of America for the duration of the GWIM in-person program - October 19-30, 2026 (if selected) and participate in an estimated 16-20 hours of online sessions from December 2026-May 2027.
