The Writers’ Festival Author Travel Fund is a funding programme that supports Australian writers’ festivals in bringing writers and illustrators to literary events across the country.

Benefits of Creative Australia - Writers Festival Author Travel Fund

Eligible organisations may request funding between:

• Minimum grant: AUD 10,000
• Maximum grant: AUD 30,000

Creative Australia - Writers Festival Author Travel Fund Requirements

Eligibility is limited to organisations that organise writers’ festivals in Australia.

Eligible applicants must:

• Operate a writers’ festival in Australia
• Be majority Australian owned and controlled
• Be physically located in Australia
• Have operated continuously for at least three years
• Have delivered at least two writers’ festivals before applying
• Pay writers’ appearance fees in accordance with Australian Society of Authors (ASA) rates
