About Creative Ballarat - Creative Inspiration Grant Program

The Creative City Inspiration Grant is an initiative of the City of Ballarat that aims to strengthen the municipality’s creative sector by encouraging new artistic ideas, cultural projects, and innovative creative practices.The program forms part of the Creative City Strategy, which focuses on building a vibrant, diverse, and sustainable creative community throughout Ballarat.Funding is intended to help creatives transform new ideas into practical projects that contribute to the cultural life of the municipality while supporting artistic development and creative innovation.

Benefits of Creative Ballarat - Creative Inspiration Grant Program

A total of nine successful applicants will receive funding.

Each successful applicant will receive:

• Grant amount: $5,000 AUD
• GST: Funding is provided excluding GST.
• Number of recipients: Nine applicants.
• Purpose: Development and delivery of new creative projects or creative practice initiatives.

Applicants should prepare realistic project budgets that clearly demonstrate how the funding will support the proposed creative activity.

Creative Ballarat - Creative Inspiration Grant Program Requirements

• Applicants must live, work, or study in Ballarat
• Must hold an ABN, be incorporated, or be auspiced by an incorporated organisation.
• Must comply with child safety legislation if projects involve children.
• Not eligible: City of Ballarat staff, councillors, or committee members.

Application Date and Process

• Confirm eligibility.
• Develop a new creative project proposal with clear objectives and outcomes.
• Prepare a realistic project budget.
• Explain local impact and community benefit.
• Ensure child safety compliance if relevant.
• Submit application with required documentation before the deadline.
