About DAC Guadeloupe x Cité internationale des Arts Residency Program

The DAC Guadeloupe x Cité internationale des arts Residency Program is an international creative residency initiative designed to support artists and cultural practitioners from Guadeloupe and surrounding territories. It enables selected creatives to develop artistic and research projects while living and working in Paris.

Benefits of DAC Guadeloupe x Cité internationale des Arts Residency Program

The residency programme will host three selected candidates. They will benefit from:

  • tailored support, opportunities for meetings, and networking organised by the programme’s partners;
  • the provision of a living and working space at the Marais site of the Cité internationale des arts;
  • a flat-rate travel grant of €1,000;
  • a monthly living allowance of €1,000;
  • a monthly production grant of €1,000.

DAC Guadeloupe x Cité internationale des Arts Residency Program Requirements

The programme is open to artists who:

  • are aged 24 or over and live and work in Guadeloupe, Saint Martin or Saint Barthélemy;
  • can demonstrate an artistic practice within the fields of visual arts, film, choreography, performance, writing or curating;
  • can evidence a professional artistic career of at least three years.

By submitting an application, the artist undertakes to:

  • accept the residency dates allocated by the selection panel;
  • be available for the entire duration of the residency, continuously for three months;
  • comply with the general regulations of the Cité internationale des arts;
  • take part in the various professional meetings and other events organised by the Cité internationale des arts;
  • commit to using the grant awarded by DAC Guadeloupe for the purchase of their flight and for living expenses in Paris.

Group applications are not eligible.

Applications will be reviewed by a jury composed of representatives of the programme’s partner organisations.

In addition to assessing the candidates’ professional background, the jury will pay particular attention to:

  • the artistic quality of the applications and the research projects submitted;
  • the rationale outlining how the residency would contribute to the candidate’s professional development;
  • the proposed working methodology and any contacts or partnerships already established with a view to developing the residency project.

Application Date and Process

Before filling out the online form, please make sure you have the following documents on hand (PDF format):

  • A detailed curriculum vitae (maximum 4 pages), in French;
  • An artistic portfolio, in French, including visuals of works with full captions (maximum 15 pages), and where applicable, video links or audio files representative of the work (mp3, avi);
  • A statement of intent, in French, in which applicants set out the motivations underpinning their practice and their interest in joining the residency programme. They must explain why their current work requires a residency in Paris and at the Cité internationale des arts, from artistic, career and professional networking perspectives (maximum 3 pages).
