About Danish Institute for Human Rights Fully Funded Global Visiting Researcher Programme

The Danish Institute for Human Rights welcomes applications to its new global visiting researcher programme. The overall aim is to strengthen existing and develop new research collaborations with academics primarily based in the global South and other underrepresented regions within thematic areas closely connected to the international work of the Danish Institute for Human Rights. The programme is grounded in equitable collaboration and mutual exchange.

Benefits of Danish Institute for Human Rights Fully Funded Global Visiting Researcher Programme

The global visiting researcher will be anchored in the research department with a colleague responsible for academic support. The researcher will also be linked to the relevant international department which will support connection to the policy context. Available support:

  • Researcher stipend / honorarium to support stays in Denmark
  • Travel and visa costs to/ from Copenhagen
  • Accommodation costs in Copenhagen.

Danish Institute for Human Rights Fully Funded Global Visiting Researcher Programme Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Strong background in human rights research
  • Affiliation with an academic institution in the Global South
  • Demonstrated academic excellence through publications
  • A feasible and relevant research proposal aligned with programme themes

Application Date and Process

Applicants must send the following:

  • A current CV (max 3 pages)
  •  1 relevant publication in English or French
  • A description of the proposed project, including aims, methods and methodology and proposed output (1-5 pages)
