About Eremuak Fellowship at Art Omi: Artists

The program is designed to offer uninterrupted time for artistic exploration while fostering cultural exchange, dialogue, and critical reflection among a diverse cohort of artists working across disciplines and practices.This application round is exclusively for artists living and working in the Basque Country

Benefits of Eremuak Fellowship at Art Omi: Artists

Art Omi covers core living and working costs during the residency.

Included benefits:

  • Private bedroom in shared living quarters

  • Private studio space

  • Three prepared meals per day

  • Full participation in residency programming

Artists are responsible for:

  • Travel to and from the residency

  • Art materials and production costs

Travel grants may be available in accordance with Art Omi fellowship guidelines.

Eremuak Fellowship at Art Omi: Artists Requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be at least 18 years old at the time of application

  • Have completed submitted work within the past 10 years

  • Be out of school at the time of application

  • Have at least five years of professional experience as an artist

Application Date and Process

  • Resume/CV reflecting at least 5 years of professional experience as artist
  • Short biography in narrative form
  • Artist Statement
  • Statement of Intent (what you expect of this experience)
  • 8 images OR links to 3 video excerpts, or 5 images AND 1 video. Video excerpts must be no longer than 1 minute each and are preferably made available for download on Vimeo if possible. Do not embed videos in submittable as we will need to either access them via a browser or download them. Applicants with videos that cannot be downloaded or viewed on an external browser such as vimeo, youtube or a website, will be disqualified
  • Brief description for each image or video submitted
