About European Commission MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships
The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships 2026 are designed to enhance the skills and career prospects of researchers holding a PhD. Fellowships are open to researchers of any nationality and support projects in both academic and non-academic sectors. They encourage international, interdisciplinary, and inter-sectoral mobility, including reintegration into Europe, support for displaced researchers, and career restarts.

European Commission MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships Requirements
Candidates must:
- Have successfully defended their thesis or have been formally awarded a PhD degree at the time of the deadline.
- Have a maximum of eight years’ experience in research, from the date of the award of their PhD degree. Note that years of experience outside research and career breaks will not count towards the above maximum, nor will years of experience in research in countries outside of the EU, for nationals or long-term residents of EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries who wish to reintegrate to Europe.
- Should comply with mobility rules: they must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the beneficiary (Ireland) for more than 12 months in the 36 months (3 years) immediately before the call deadline. Special mobility rules apply for career break and researchers’ at risk.
