About Fast Forward Accelerator 2027 for Tech Nonprofits

The Fast Forward Accelerator is the flagship accelerator of Fast Forward, an organization focused on helping technology nonprofits increase their social impact.

Unlike general startup accelerators, the program is built around the specific challenges faced by nonprofit technology ventures. Participants receive support in areas such as fundraising, product development, team building, nonprofit management, impact measurement and scaling.

The 2027 Accelerator will run from late February to early June 2027. Most sessions are delivered virtually, while selected activities, including the kickoff and Demo Days, involve in-person participation in San Francisco.

The program is particularly relevant to organizations that have moved beyond the idea stage and already have a minimum viable product (MVP). Fast Forward evaluates applicants holistically, looking not only at the technology but also at leadership, potential impact, scalability, technical capacity, lived experience and alignment with its expertise.

Fast Forward Accelerator 2027 for Tech Nonprofits Requirements

The Accelerator is intended for early-stage technology and AI-powered nonprofits rather than conventional for-profit startups.

Fast Forward identifies two core requirements:

• The organization must pursue a nonprofit business model.
• The organization must have a minimum viable product (MVP) already built.

Beyond these requirements, applicants are assessed on several factors:

• Strong and visionary leadership.
• Access to appropriate technical talent or a credible plan to obtain it.
• Significant potential for social impact.
• A software-based solution with potential to scale.
• A strong understanding of the problem being addressed.
• Evidence of lived experience can strengthen an applicant’s case.
• Alignment between the organization’s needs and Fast Forward’s expertise.

The program is therefore best suited to founders who have already tested an idea and are now looking for the capital, expertise and network required to move from an early-stage solution toward greater scale.
