The Forte Establishment Grant Programme is a competitive research funding opportunity designed to support the skills development, independence, and mobility of junior researchers. The programme targets early-career researchers conducting research within health, working life, and welfare, with a strong emphasis on scientific excellence, societal relevance, and the development of an independent academic career.
The grant can be applied for up to three years after you have completed your doctoral degree. You are eligible to apply for a starting grant under this call if you have a doctoral degree awarded sometime during the period 2023-03-19 and 2026-03-19.If you have been unable to conduct research for longer periods, you can apply for an exemption from the requirement of career age. You do this by invoking so-called deductible time. If you have claimed deductible time, Forte may request a certificate that proves the reason for the stated absence.
You must have an activity level in the project of at least 50 percent of full-time. You must also be paid to the same extent as your activity level. Applications where the activity rate is below 50 percent will be rejected.
The project can be carried out at a Swedish organisation or higher education institution, or at an organisation in another country. Please note, however, that you must be employed by the organisation in Sweden that is the administrating organisation for the grant.
You may not be the main applicant for an application in this call if you are also applying for funding in Forte's annual call for project grants. You can apply for funding under this call and at the same time be a participating researcher in an application in the project grant call.
You must have submitted a final report on previously awarded grants from Forte within the set time. This only applies to grants where the time for final reporting has passed. We take into account any previously granted extension of the availability period and thus the postponed date for reporting.
