The FFBC Black Medical Student Bursary is a needs-based award created to support Black students entering their first year of medical school at select Canadian institutions. This bursary reflects the Foundation for Black Communities’ commitment to advancing health equity and ensuring that Black communities are represented and supported across all levels of healthcare.
Each recipient will receive a $10,000 bursary to help alleviate the financial barriers associated with pursuing a medical education. We recognize the systemic challenges that Black students face in accessing and completing medical training, and this program is designed to empower the next generation of Black physicians by providing both financial relief and a signal of community support.
This bursary is open to students who:
Are entering their first year at one of the eligible medical schools
Demonstrate financial need
Show a commitment to community involvement and leadership
