Opportunity Details
The Foundation Scotland – Glenkens & District Community Fund is a grant-making initiative that supports community projects in Dumfries & Galloway, particularly in the areas surrounding Glenkens.
Standard Grants: £500–£25,000; two deadlines per year.
Multi-Year Grants: Up to £75,000 over 3 years (pending confirmation for 2025–26).
Large Grants: Over £25,000; requires a two-stage application.
Small Grants: Under £500; available directly from local Community Councils.
Education & Training Fund: Up to £1,000 for individuals.
Who Can Apply
Groups and organisations working to benefit residents in the eligible community council areas.
You don’t need to be a registered charity.
Organisations outside the fund area may apply if they demonstrate clear benefit to residents within the area.
What Can’t Be Funded
Specific exclusions are listed , but generally, activities that don’t align with the fund’s purpose or priorities won’t be supported.
Eligibility Criteria
Must meet Foundation Scotland’s standard eligibility criteria.
Applications must align with the fund’s purpose: building connected, resilient, and carbon-neutral communities.
Additional Criteria to Strengthen Applications
Projects are favored if they:
Show partnership working and collaboration.
Have geographic breadth of impact across the fund area.
Promote skills, knowledge, and understanding.
Are imaginative and explore new ideas.
Demonstrate long-term viability or sustainability.
Show environmental responsibility.
Include match funding (especially for larger grants).
Procure goods/services locally where possible.
