About Fulbright TEA Program
The Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) Program for Pakistan will provide Pakistani teachers from government schools with unique opportunities to develop expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills, and increase their knowledge of the United States. This program is designed to enhance teachers' expertise in their teaching discipline and equip them with a deeper understanding of best practices in teaching methodologies, lesson planning, and the use of technology in teaching to create among educators a more nuanced understanding of the U.S. and to develop productive and lasting relationships and mutual understanding between U.S. and Pakistani teachers and their students. This is also intended to contribute to improving teaching in participating countries by preparing participants to serve as teacher leaders, who upon returning home will apply and share their experience and skills with their peers and students. All participants must return immediately to their home country upon completion of the program. A group of teachers will go to the U.S. for eight weeks of internship in academic settings.

Fulbright TEA Program Requirements
- First, you must be a government school teacher in Pakistan to join the TEA Program by Fulbright.
- Also, you must teach Mathematics, Sciences, or Computer Science to students in classes 8 to 10 because the program focuses on these subjects.
- In addition, you must have at least five years of classroom teaching experience to show your skills and dedication.
- You must be a Pakistani citizen and live in Pakistan, so you can represent the country during the Fulbright TEA program.
- Moreover, you must plan to continue teaching for at least five years after the program to use what you learn in your school.
- You must have good spoken and written English so that you can take part in workshops and group activities easily.
- Finally, you must have at least a Bachelor’s degree or 16 years of education to complete all program tasks successfully.
The following applicants cannot apply for the Fulbright TEA Program 2026:
- First, dual U.S. and Pakistani citizens cannot apply for this program.
- Also, applicants who have a U.S. citizen or permanent resident spouse or child over 18 are not eligible.
- In addition, employees or contractors of Fulbright, the U.S. Department of State, or USAID, along with their close family members, cannot apply.
- Finally, anyone who is already an alumni of a U.S. government-funded scholarship program is not eligible to participate.
