About Geyser Community Foundation - Michael Pilaar Memorial Music Scholarship

The purpose of the Michael Pilaar Memorial Music Scholarship is to encourage young musicians to pursue their interest and enjoyment in music performance, both vocal and instrumental, and to help them reach their potential. The focus is on classical music.

• Up to SIX Scholarships with a value of $500 each will be available in 2026.

Geyser Community Foundation - Michael Pilaar Memorial Music Scholarship Requirements

Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements.

Eligible applicants must:

• Be between 10 and 18 years of age on 1 January of the application year
• Reside within the Rotorua or Taupō District communities
• Be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
• Demonstrate an interest in classical music performance
• Be involved in either vocal or instrumental music

The scholarship is intended for young musicians committed to developing their talents.
