About GIFTS Fellowship
A new global fellowship for leaders on a mission to reshape education systems for a changing world so that every student fulfills their potential to shape a better future.
Benefits of GIFTS Fellowship
- In-person launch and immersion: Fellows will participate in a four-day in-person experience in January 2027. The event will focus on deepening relationships among fellows, exploring individual leadership and examining a live education system case study.
- System transformation project: Each fellow will work on a system transformation project within their own national or regional context. The project will provide the basis for peer learning, reflection and knowledge generation.
- Masterclasses and roundtables: Fellows will participate in eight virtual sessions exploring important education system and leadership questions with global experts.
- Coaching and mentoring: Participants will receive opportunities to connect with renowned leaders from education, politics, business and technology.
- Peer learning: The fellowship will create opportunities for participants to develop lasting relationships and learn from colleagues tackling similar system-level challenges in different countries.
- Joint publication: Fellows will have support from the Global Institute’s writing team to communicate important lessons and insights through a joint publication aimed at a wider global audience.
GIFTS Fellowship Requirements
The fellowship is designed for the most influential and innovative education system leaders working within ministries, political offices, or in long-term partnerships with the government from civil society roles. Fellows will show:
- A lifelong commitment to improving the systems around children
- Alignment with the purpose of developing all students holistically regardless of background or economic status
- Capacity for developing collective leadership and navigating complex politics
- Ability to influence significant system-level change at a national or regional scale
- Potential to serve as an influential leader in the global education ecosystem
